Deliver

At Tip de Bruin, we offer various shipping methods so you can choose how, where, and when you receive your order. If you place an order Monday through Friday before 4:00 PM, we'll ship it that same day with PostNL, and you'll (almost always) receive it the next day. Orders placed over the weekend will be delivered on Tuesday. After your order is placed, you'll receive a track & trace code so you can track your order.

Not home?

If you're not home after the second delivery attempt, the package will be stored at a PostNL distribution center. You can indicate a preferred date and time that same day, at your convenience. Enter your tracking number and postal code on the PostNL website. The package will then be delivered at your convenience.

Pick up at a collection point

You can also have your order delivered to a PostNL collection point near you. You can find the nearest collection point by entering your postal code during the ordering process. Please remember to bring a valid ID when collecting your order.

Pick up in our stores

You can also easily pick up your order at our store on Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam. Your order will be ready for you the same day, and you can collect it during opening hours. Please remember to bring a valid ID when you collect your order.

Returns & Exchanges

General

Purchases can be exchanged or returned if they do not meet the customer's expectations. Tip de Bruin has a 14-day return policy. The customer must provide proof of purchase and the items must be undamaged and unused/unworn. Items must have all original tags attached and be properly packaged. For online purchases, returns are only possible with a fully completed returns form, which you received with your order.

Webshop purchase Exchange by mail

Online purchases can only be returned with a completed return form. Customers should preferably pack the items to be returned in the original shipping box and use the return address provided on the return form. Return address: Tip de Bruin Online, Nieuwendijk 86, 1012 MR Amsterdam. Upon receipt, Tip de Bruin will inspect all returned items. Tip de Bruin reserves the right to refuse and return items that appear to have been worn, damaged, or whose original tags have been removed. Once Tip de Bruin has processed the returns and all conditions for exchange and return have been met, the invoice amount will be refunded to the customer's account or credit card within 14 days.

Webshop purchase Exchange in the store

It is also possible to exchange or return purchases at the Tip de Bruin stores on Nieuwendijk. When returning online purchases, customers will receive a return receipt from the relevant Tip de Bruin store. If all conditions for exchanging and returning the online purchase are met, the invoice amount will be refunded to the customer's account or credit card within 14 days. Cash refunds are not possible.

If you made a purchase in our physical store, you can also exchange or return it. For items purchased in our Tip de Bruin stores, you can receive a credit note or exchange the item for another product. We do not offer refunds for purchases made in our physical stores.

Dispatch

Tip de Bruin is not responsible for any issues that arise during the return shipment of items. This includes (but is not limited to) items damaged during shipping or incorrectly delivered. Tip de Bruin therefore recommends using a carrier that insures the value of the returned items and provides the customer with proof of shipment. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer and will not be reimbursed by Tip de Bruin.

Complaints & Warranty

General

At Tip de Bruin, we strive to make every order as smooth as possible. We strive every day to keep our customers satisfied. However, if you are unexpectedly dissatisfied with something, you can file a complaint with us. You can do so by email or by phone using the contact information below. If you submit a complaint by email, we aim to respond within 24 hours. You can also file a complaint in our store.

In the event of a complaint, we always consider the statutory warranty applicable to your complaint. This means that the item must do what you can reasonably expect from it. Furthermore, you are only entitled to warranty coverage if your complaint is justified. A complaint will not be considered if it is caused by:

- Damage caused intentionally or negligently
- Improper use or negligent maintenance
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by failure to observe or incorrect observance of the instructions for use

After you submit a complaint to us, we will review it together with the manufacturer. If your complaint is justified, we will replace the product within the warranty period.

About us

Tip de Bruin

Tip de Bruin has been located on Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam since 1953. What began as a men's fashion boutique has grown into an institution in the city and far beyond. With four adjacent stores, each with its own unique atmosphere and clothing style, you can find something beautiful for every conceivable occasion.

Tip de Bruin, the founder and namesake of the store, was a visionary. He soon began selling internationally renowned brands in his shop, something new and unusual at the time. In the 1960s, he focused on selling artist outfits, often custom-made for the store. There was even a separate fitting room where bands could stand on a stage facing a mirrored wall. Tip would then personally control the colored lighting so they could see how the glitter jackets they were about to purchase would look during a performance. Well-known Dutch and international artists were regular visitors to the store.

By the end of the last century, Tip de Bruin had become the leading wedding attire specialist in the Netherlands. As a groom-to-be, you absolutely had to visit Nieuwendijk to get dressed there. Choosing a wedding suit with the whole family at Tip's became practically a standard part of wedding preparations.

After the turn of the century, Tip de Bruin became "streetwise." Many people now know us for our jeans, sneakers, tops, and especially jackets.

Where can you find Tip de Bruin?

Tip: De Bruin is just a stone's throw from Amsterdam Central Station, making it a 5-minute walk to our shops. Coming by car? Then the Q-Park Nieuwendijk parking garage on Nieuwenzijds Voorburgwal is the closest. Looking for cheaper parking? Then park at Noord station and take metro line 52 to Amsterdam Central Station.

General Terms and Conditions

1. General

1.1 These general terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as: Terms and Conditions) govern all contracts, deliveries and other services agreed between the customer and Tip de Bruin BV (hereinafter referred to as: Tip de Bruin).

1.2 By placing an order, the customer agrees to be bound by the general terms and conditions.

1.3 Tip de Bruin reserves the right to make changes to any part of the website at its sole discretion. As part of its policy of updating and improving the website, Tip de Bruin may amend these terms and conditions.

2. Concluding a contract

2.1 A contract is only concluded when payment has been successfully completed. Tip de Bruin reserves the right to refuse a delivery or to subject it to special conditions without stating reasons. If Tip de Bruin is unable to clearly determine the customer's permanent or temporary address, an order cannot be accepted. Tip de Bruin will confirm the customer's order by email.

2.2 Order processing that is interrupted for any reason, technically or otherwise, before the payment instructions have been completed will be considered incomplete, even if the customer has received an order confirmation. Therefore, such an order will generally not be delivered. Tip de Bruin will, however, attempt to contact the customer to complete the payment instructions so that delivery can take place.

2.3 Only persons aged 18 years or older with a permanent residential address can place an order in the Tip de Bruin Webshop.

3. Prices and costs

3.1 The contract price is the current price at the time an order is placed in the Tip de Bruin Webshop. Item prices are listed inclusive of 21% VAT.

3.2 The prices stated in the Tip de Bruin Webshop are exclusive of delivery and administration costs.

3.3 Tip de Bruin is not bound by the terms of its offer if there is a printing, typographical, or programming error on the website.

4. Execution of orders

4.1 Tip de Bruin will process orders for articles with the utmost care.

4.2 Items will be delivered to the address the customer has provided on the Tip de Bruin Webshop.

4.3 Tip de Bruin will ship accepted orders as quickly as possible in the order in which they were received.

4.4 The delivery time stated on the Tip de Bruin Webshop is only approximate, and there is no right to compensation if the actual delivery takes longer.

5. Right to return items

5.1 The customer has the right to return an item (excluding underwear and socks) to Tip de Bruin within fourteen (14) days of delivery without stating a reason. This will result in the cancellation of the purchase of that item, and the customer will receive a refund for the amount already paid to Tip de Bruin for the items. Please note that Tip de Bruin will not reimburse shipping costs for returned items.

5.2 Customers can also return or exchange an item at a Tip de Bruin. Cash refunds are not available for items returned to the store. After Tip de Bruin receives and inspects the items, the refund will be credited to the customer's account within 14 days.

5.3 Items returned to Tip de Bruin after the stated 14-day period will not be refunded.

5.4 Items must be returned with all labels attached (please note that the return label must not be removed).

5.5 Returned items must be in the condition generally accepted for normal use, such as trying on items in conventional stores. If a customer wishes to exercise this right to return an item, the item must be returned to Tip de Bruin along with everything that originally came with it, in its original condition and packaging.

5.6 Tip de Bruin has the right to refuse a returned item or to return it to the customer if the item appears to be used, does not have the original tags, or shows damage caused by the customer, or if the customer has not followed the return instructions as provided by Tip de Bruin.

6. Incorrect delivery

If Tip de Bruin delivers an item that does not match the ordered item, or if the item is damaged or defective, the customer must notify Tip de Bruin as soon as possible by email. Tip de Bruin will refund the purchase price plus any delivery costs.

7. Force Majeure

7.1 Tip de Bruin shall not be liable to the customer and shall not be in breach of contract by reason of any delay in performing or failure to perform any of its obligations relating to articles arising from a cause beyond Tip de Bruin's reasonable control.

7.2 If Tip de Bruin is unable to perform its obligations under the contract due to a cause beyond its reasonable control, Tip de Bruin will notify the customer in writing of this fact as soon as practicable after it has discovered this.

7.3 If the inability to perform its obligations under the contract due to a cause beyond Tip de Bruin's reasonable control continues for two months after the customer receives notice, either the customer or Tip de Bruin may terminate the contract in writing without liability to the other.

8. Complaints

8.1 If a customer wishes to exchange or return an item, they must follow the instructions stated on the Customer Service page of our website.

8.2 Other questions, comments or complaints regarding an order should be sent in writing to the following email address: info@tipdebruin.nl.

8.3 The email message must include the customer's name, the email address that matches the one in Tip de Bruin's records, and the item number.

9. Payment

9.1 The customer can pay with Visa, Mastercard, iDeal and Paypal.

9.2 All payments must be made in accordance with the instructions stated on the pages of the Tip de Bruin Webshop.

10. Privacy

10.1 By placing an order, the customer grants Tip de Bruin the right to use their personal data as needed. This data will be retained only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes for which it is obtained and processed by Tip de Bruin, namely the performance of the contract, for marketing purposes, and to maintain contact with the customer.

11. Deviations

Tip de Bruin cannot guarantee that the colors of the items will be exactly the same as those displayed on the customer's computer screen. This may be due to the display settings on the customer's computer.
